Simon Scott

Simon has been involved in buying and selling businesses for over 30 years. As a Chartered Accountant, who has worked as a Finance Director and Managing Director, he has prepared, sold and acquired many companies.

Simon started his career as a civil engineer moving on to qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, working as a Finance Director and Managing Director for a number of businesses. During this time, he has bought and sold many companies, as well as being a Director in a business that was acquired.

He founded and developed Redcare (a security business) into a national brand. He acquired Expedite (an IT service company) for BT and went on to become its CEO. Since moving to CMC, he has advised a wide range of businesses through the sales process, from supporting exit strategies to brokering successful acquisitions. Recent deals include Alatoni (£9m (turnover) food services), P&J (£1.3m manufacturer), Premier Fish (£4m wholesaler), and Comms Solve Technologies (£2m telco services).

Peter Martin

With over 30 years’ experience in business, finance and working at board level, Peter has considerable expertise in corporate transformation, business acquisitions and company sales.

Peter has over thirty years’ experience of business and finance. In the early part of his career, Peter worked as a corporate finance adviser, initially with Kleinwort Benson, the UK investment bank, and then as a founding partner of Anvil Partners, a provider of financial advisory services to the private equity sector.

In 2000, he was one of the founder shareholders of Tribal Group, a leading supplier of software and services to the education sector in the UK and internationally, and during 2007 to 2011 he was Tribal Group’s chief executive.

During his career, Peter has been a non-executive director of a number of private and listed companies and he is currently a non-executive director of three private companies.

Peter has degrees in engineering and economics from the University of Birmingham and he is a Sloan Fellow and the holder of a master’s degree from London Business School.
